Goin' Joggin'

Abram got to take his first rides in the jogging stroller this week. For the past couple months, I've been taking him to my sister's house and leave him there to sleep while I go run (which usually means I end up pushing Mya or Sydney in the jogging stroller!). This week, I decided to see how it went taking Abram in the jogging stroller.

First of all, it was like pushing a feather, compared to Mya or Sydney. Abram loved it and slept most of the time.

Since the stroller doesn't have a shade/cover, I put Greysen's fishing hat on him to keep the sun out of his eyes.
I couldn't resist! It looks like a sombrero on his tiny little head. Oh, what a cutie!

A Garage Sale You Don't Want to Miss!

I am having a GARAGE SALE tomorrow (Saturday) from 7:30a-noon at Jared & Stephanie Van Cleaves (2114 Greenbriar, right by Reiman Gardens off of Beach Avenue).

This is what my basement looked like Monday morning: And here is my basement after I priced and organized everything:

(Not to mention all of the Van Cleave's stuff!)

If there is one thing I could do professionally, it is put on garage sales! The problem is it takes a lot of time and isn't worth doing more than once a year. But, I enjoy doing it, especially with friends.

I promise you there will be TONS of stuff and it will be ORGANIZED! Hope you can make it!

Little Safari Man

Need a miniature safari guide? I think we have one! My dad came to visit us quickly over the weekend and took us to Hickory Park Saturday night.
. . . Perhaps the girls had too much ice cream!
Friday night we had our friends (who are from Kuwait but studying at ISU) over for a good-bye dinner. Jason has known Ahmed for two years. Last summer he married Maryam and the past year she and I have become good friends. Ahmed finished his masters and will be going to Columbia, Missouri to get his phd. We will miss them!

June

I didn't post much at the end of June because I made myself finish our thank-yous before I posted anymore. :) So, here are a few cute pics from the end of June . . . The little monkey falling asleep with all his monkeys (he actually got one more after this . . . he now has one monkey from each of his mommas and each of his grandmas!) Jason's mom, Rhonda, threw us a baby shower in Burlington at the end of June. The theme was tropical monkeys. And she did an amazing thing . . . she made a palm tree out of diapers! I am not kidding . . . check it out below. I absolutely LOVE it!
Abram was so happy to meet his great-grandma Jan (Jason's grandma).
Jason's cousins, Jesse & Ellie
When we got home from Burlington that Sunday night, we stopped at Ehresmans. It was really hot, even after dinner, so Mark and Jason took the kids to the neighbor's pool.

Speaking of Baseball

Jason has been wanting to go to an Ames High baseball game and we found out one of their last games was last night. We were already planning to have the three kids spend the night, so we all went to the game. Jason was very excited to take his son to his first baseball game!
Jason took Abram and Brady early to the first game (the girls and I game later). Looks like Brady got a walking taco!Mya, Sydney & Brady
Chocolate shakes (as usual) before bed
Syd wanted to take our picture. She helped me "push buttons" to get the pictures downloaded this morning.

Abram Update

Over this past weekend, Abram officially gave me his first really big smile! And he gives us many happy faces every day now. It is so fun! Here are a couple smiles I captured this morning.
Yesterday afternoon, while I was getting ready to go running, I found Jason out in the yard with Abram when I went outside. I know Jason is just dying to interact with Abram when he gets older. Since he can't now, I think this was his way of coping!Sometimes when I take Abram downstairs to check the laundry, he gets a ride back upstairs in the laundry basket, like this morning.Watching Abram s-t-r-e-t-c-h is one of my favorite things!Sweet, sleeping Abram (a couple weeks ago)Abram is very serious that the St. Louis Cardinals should be #1! For anyone who doesn't know, I have to brag about my husband and the fact that he used to play professional baseball for the Cardinals. Jill Paullus, a die-hard Cubs fan, swallowed her pride and bought Abram his first Cardinals outfit!
