Birthday Party

We had a birthday party on Monday . . . even though the birthday girl, Zahra - our oldest, 8-year old daughter was not here.We celebrated in the morning with banana muffins and eight candles.
All the cousins and some friends (Owen and Jaida) sang "Happy Birthday". . .
And blew out the candles.
All in Zahra's honor. It was the perfect little way to celebrate her life and our love for her.

Little Gangster!

Abram saw me wearing this "hat" yesterday and wanted to try it for himself. Too stinkin' cute!He is checking himself out in the mirror.It has been awhile since Abram's girlfriend, Jaida, has made a blog appearance. Here they are eating snacks together last Friday. I swear if we took them out in public together people might think they are twins!

A Cute Little Girl Came to Visit Yesterday

Miss Jaida came over yesterday.

We read books.

I really want to get my hands on that hair of hers.

So, I did. But, mommy is yelling at me right now to STOP!Even though I messed up Jaida's hair, she still wanted to see what I was doing. I think she thinks I'm big stuff!Then I guess I decided to really go after her hair a little while later.

But she played good defense and I fell down.

We lived happily ever after with our sippy cups and snacks!

Abram and Jaida side-by-side in their strollers is a frequent occurence these days because Andy, Jill and Jaida recently bought a house TWO BLOCKS away from US. Can you even believe that?! Sometimes I still can't! It has been a huge blessing. Jill and I and the kiddos go walking a lot. Jaida came over last week. She LOVES to jump in the jumper.When Abram realized where she was, he headed straight for her.With his bat, of course!

Jaida's jumping landed him right on the floor.

Then it was time to play catch.

If Jaida is going to be the wife of a baseball player, she might as well start getting used to a bat and ball now!

Fun with Friends

Abram has been having lots of fun with his little friends lately. Last week was Reese Wulfekuhle's first birthday. What a pretty birthday girl!

This is a terrible picture, but it is the best of what I took. Bathtime with the Grey-man after playing outside with the cousins.

A stroller ride with Callen Stenberg. Callen really wanted to ride in the stroller, too, and both boys surprisingly enjoyed being crammed in there together (for a short distance)!

And the first attempt at putting Jaida, Reese and Abram all in the little pool. Abram didn't last long at all . . . he was hungry and so sat outside of the pool eating Cheerios most of the time the girls played. Jaida didn't last very long either. But Reese . . . that girl could have stayed in the pool for hours!

My Girl

I got to hang out with my girl yesterday. I love to take the bow out of her hair.

I showed her how I can stand up with no hands . . . but she didn't really care.

I took her for a spin.

And then . . .

I really showed her my stuff!

My Girlfriend Came Over Today

We hung out.I pulled her bow out of her hair. She played hard-to-get.But I got her anyway!I hope she comes back again soon.
